Helping with FFW
My young boy was diagnosed with Free Faecal Water, which although is not understood to cause discomfort for horses (not much research done yet), my horse was uncomfortable lifting back legs and had the obvious nasty appearance and smell. Since using gastro shield the occurrences of FFW have reduced (not completely gone) and he seems more comfortable. I will continue using GastroShield as part of the solution although I do know there also have to be lifestyle changes
Report abuseGood service as always from Equimins
I've no idea what my mare would be like without her regular GastroShield, but I know she stresses when separated from her companion so it's to help prevent any bad things happening in the stomach.

Gastro Shield
I have seen a gradual improvement in my ulcer prone horse. He used to have really loose droppings prior to travel, they are firmer now. Also he is a little less ‘girthy’ since he started on Gastro Shield. The smell is quite sickly sweet and strong and although he usually eats everything, it can sometimes be a little difficult to get him to eat the midday serving of Gastro Shield in a small extra feed. I am continuing with it as it has gradually improved his stomach and I hope to keep it well to hopefully avoid giving ulcer medication too often. Thank you for your interest in our opinions.
